Introduction

IT Specialists in this role will have expertise in managing and operating IT, software, communications, and application solutions. They will be responsible for planning, developing, delivering, and supporting properly engineered IT services and products to meet business needs. The focus will be on take-out projects, replacing competitor software with IBM Security solutions (Guardium Data Protection).

The scope includes preparation for new or changed products and services, managing the change process, ensuring professional standards, and overseeing system and service performance in relation to business performance. IT Specialists will primarily apply their technical skills in billable services and implementation environments, guiding functional objectives or technologies.

Your Role and Responsibilities

As an IT Specialist, your responsibilities include managing and operating IT, software, communications, and application solutions, focusing on projects that replace competitor software with IBM Security solutions (Guardium Data Protection). You will prepare for new or changed products and services, manage change processes, and oversee system and service performance to support business objectives. You will work in internal or external customer environments, guiding technical objectives and technologies.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• In-depth knowledge of IBM Guardium Data Protection, including architecture, components, and functionalities.
• Experience in configuring and managing Guardium, including design, installation, performance testing, patching, troubleshooting, and operational support.
• Understanding of Guardium roles, responsibilities, deployment, upgrades, migrations, backup, and restore on major OS platforms (Windows/Linux/Unix) and database platforms (SQL, Oracle, DB2).
• Strong understanding of Guardium best practices, tuning, policy rule development, and implementation.
• Proficiency in developing reporting, alerting, and SIEM integration.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills for cross-functional collaboration.
• Experience with P1 severity issues.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple tasks and projects.
• Critical and analytical thinking skills.
• Advanced English proficiency.

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

• Experience with Vulnerability Assessment, Classification, and Discovery.
• Experience managing Mainframe DB2.
