Job summary

EPAM Systems, Inc. seeks a Chief Python Engineer to lead architecture and delivery of an AI-powered financial assistant platform. You will shape design, build production-grade Python services with FastAPI, and drive evaluation strategies, monitoring, and security.

The role demands high autonomy and strong leadership in a fast-moving environment. You will collaborate with business users, review AI-generated code, and raise engineering standards for reliability, maintainability, and observability

Qualifications

• 7+ years of Python experience delivering production systems.
• Senior leadership experience driving technical direction and mentoring engineers.
• Strong system design skills for scalable, secure services.
• Deep FastAPI experience or strong proficiency with equivalent Python frameworks.
• Expert AI evaluation and quality engineering skills including automated evals and regression testing.
• Advanced AI security knowledge including privacy, access control, and prompt-injection mitigations.

Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end architectures for an AI-powered financial assistant platform.
• Build production-grade Python services and APIs using FastAPI.
• Define evaluation strategies and test datasets to measure model quality and regressions.
• Implement monitoring and failure analysis to detect and triage AI issues in production.
• Establish security controls for sensitive data, access, and prompt-injection risks.
• Coordinate delivery in a low-formality environment with minimal process overhead.
