EPAM Systems, Inc. is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to design and deliver production-grade AI agents, data pipelines, and tool APIs in a cloud-native Python environment.

You will focus on agent-tool development, safe data access, and observability while partnering with cross-functional stakeholders. You will build and maintain agent tools, system prompts, and structured JSON outputs for reliable downstream use, implement MCP server capabilities, and develop asynchronous task handlers that trigger

Qualificações

• 3+ years of production software development experience with Python.
• Experience building LLM integrations, AI agents, or data-intensive backend services.
• Strong project execution skills in small, self-managed teams.
• Proven REST API design with RFC 7807 error handling conventions.

Responsabilidades

• Design production-grade AI agents and tool APIs for analytical reasoning and automated recommendations.
• Build and maintain agent tools, system prompts, and structured JSON output parsing.
• Implement read-only MCP server for safe access to enterprise datasets.
• Develop asynchronous task handlers to trigger low-risk actions or tickets via an action gateway.
• Write and optimize SQL queries against cost datasets with partitioning and clustering standards.
• Establish observability with health probes, structured JSON logging, and trace propagation.
• Collaborate through peer reviews and co-located unit/integration tests to keep quality high.
