Job summary

EPAM Systems seeks a Chief AI Factory Engineer to lead teams of AI agents, ensuring shipped, accurate, and maintainable code while upholding quality standards. You will own architectural decisions, manage agent outputs, and embed verification across the development loop.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience coordinating multi-agent workflows.
• Ability to establish acceptance criteria and quality gates for automated or AI-assisted development.
• Proficiency in creating verification pipelines, including tests and linters.
• Experience reviewing code diffs, questioning automated decisions, and fixing agent drift.
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher.

Responsibilities

• Break down work into specs and tasks executable by agents (planner, implementer, reviewer, tester).
• Oversee agent output by reading diffs and intervening when necessary.
• Embed verification in every loop with tests, linters, and type checks.
• Establish acceptance criteria to validate agent-generated work before integration.
• Own architectural decisions, design tradeoffs, and correctness; delegate code generation to agents.
• Complete tasks manually when necessary to determine agent output correctness.
• Continuously refine the factory setup based on daily usage.
• Gauge success via shipped repositories, defects, throughput, and code quality.
• Provide reports on specs, tests, reviews, and production metrics.
