Business Development Representative (BDR) - Brazil
Published 14 of September
Hey, we’re BRAINR.
We’re building the intelligent brain for every food factory: an AI-powered factory management platform that connects machines, sensors, software, and people.
BRAINR was born inside the food industry and built for the reality of the factory floor, where yield, variability, food safety, and traceability matter every day.
We’ve been profitable from day one and raised a record-breaking €11M seed round—the largest in Portugal’s history—followed by an additional €1.5M investment from Portugal Ventures. We were named Best Factory Digitization Solution at Food 4 Future, selected as one of EUROPA’s 100 most promising startups, and recognized as a Top Cloud-Based MES Solution by Manufacturing Tech Insights.
Today, BRAINR already manages more than 25% of Portugal’s meat production. Now we’re accelerating our international expansion.
The Challenge
We’re looking for a Business Development Representative (BDR) to help build BRAINR’s presence in Brazil.
You’ll be one of our first voices in the market. Your core mission is to create qualified pipeline such as identifying the right food manufacturers, engaging senior decision-makers, understanding their operational challenges, and turning relevant conversations into high-value opportunities for our Sales team.
This is more than a standard prospecting role. You’ll combine disciplined outbound execution with local market intelligence, helping us refine our Ideal Customer Profile (ICP), messaging, and go-to-market approach for Brazil.
If you’re curious about how factories work, confident starting conversations, and excited by the opportunity to help build a new market, we’d love to meet you.
What you’ll own:
- Market intelligence: Research and prioritize target accounts and key stakeholders in Brazil, then turn local insights into actionable go-to-market recommendations.
- Pipeline generation: Run consistent outbound prospecting with tailored outreach, lead strong first conversations, and qualify opportunities into high-value meetings for the Sales team.
- Local representation: Build BRAINR’s presence in Brazil through events, visits, and networking, and follow up in a structured way to convert new contacts into opportunities.
- Sales process improvement: Keep the CRM accurate and share structured insights on activity, conversion, objections, and market signals to continuously improve messaging and execution.
What success looks like:
- You create a well-researched, prioritized view of the Brazilian market.
- You consistently open relevant conversations with stakeholders in target accounts.
- You generate qualified meetings and pipeline—not activity for activity’s sake.
- Your market insights make our positioning and go-to-market approach stronger.
- Prospects experience BRAINR as credible, knowledgeable, and genuinely useful from the first interaction.
Minimum requirements
You may be a great fit if you have:
- +2 years of experience in Business Development/Sales Development.
- Strong communication skills and confidence starting conversations with different stakeholders.
- A curious, coachable mindset and the ability to learn fast (industry, product, sales process).
- Solid research and organization skills to run structured outreach, qualification, and follow-up.
- Comfort working with targets and keeping the CRM up to date.
- Native or fluent Brazilian Portuguese; professional English.
- Availability to spend around 2 weeks in Portugal at our headquarters for onboarding.
- We are flexible about your location within Brazil. However, you must be available to attend industry fairs, factory visits, and in-person meetings across the country.
Bonus points:
- Being able to communicate in Spanish would be a strong plus.
- Experience with outbound outreach (email, phone, LinkedIn).
- Exposure to SaaS/industrial tech or complex B2B sales.
- Interest in factory operations and systems (MES/ERP/WMS/QMS, production planning, traceability).
What you can expect from BRAINR
- Visible impact: your work will directly influence strategic opportunities and BRAINR’s international growth.
- Real industrial challenges:you’ll solve technical problems grounded in the day-to-day reality of food manufacturing.
- A differentiated product: you’ll represent an AI-powered platform built specifically for the food industry.
- Close collaboration: you’ll work directly with Sales, Product, Engineering, Customer Success, and company leadership.
- Continuous learning: you’ll deepen your knowledge of BRAINR, industrial technology, enterprise sales, and food manufacturing.
- An ambitious team: you’ll join people focused on helping factories produce more, lose less, and stay in control as they grow.
- Hybrid work: a hybrid setup that balances focus time with in-person collaboration.
- Flexible working: hours that fit your routine.
