We’re building the intelligent brain for every food factory: an AI-powered factory management platform that connects machines, sensors, software, and people.
BRAINR was born inside the food industry and built for the reality of the factory floor, where yield, variability, food safety, and traceability matter every day.
We’ve been profitable from day one and raised a record-breaking €11M seed round—the largest in Portugal’s history—followed by an additional €1.5M investment from Portugal Ventures. We were named Best Factory Digitization Solution at Food 4 Future, selected as one of EUROPA’s 100 most promising startups, and recognized as a Top Cloud-Based MES Solution by Manufacturing Tech Insights.
Today, BRAINR already manages more than 25% of Portugal’s meat production. Now we’re accelerating our international expansion.
The Challenge
We’re looking for a Sales Engineer to be the technical partner behind BRAINR’s most important sales opportunities in Brazil.
You’ll help food manufacturers understand how BRAINR fits their technology landscape, connects with existing systems, and supports their operational goals. Combining technical depth with commercial awareness, you’ll lead discovery, deliver tailored demonstrations, answer questions about architecture and integrations, and support proofs of concept.
You’ll also play a key role in demonstrating how BRAINR can solve each customer’s specific problems and strong product demo skills will be one of the most important parts of the role.
Your goal is simple: give customers the technical confidence to choose BRAINR while ensuring that what we propose is realistic, secure, scalable, and deliverable.
What you’ll own:
- Requirements gathering & technical discovery: Lead structured discovery with prospects and internal stakeholders (current systems, constraints, data sources, integration patterns, security/compliance needs, and success criteria) and translate findings into clear requirements and a solution approach.
- Value Engineering support (scope, assumptions, risks): Partner with Sales/Value Engineering PT to define scope, assumptions, and risks for each opportunity in Brazil; help build a credible business case and ensure the proposed solution is realistic and deliverable.
- Product demos: Deliver tailored product demonstrations for different audiences (factory teams to executives), grounded in the prospect’s requirements and operational reality.
- Deal execution support: Provide technical inputs for proposals/RFPs, answer questions throughout the sales cycle, and help remove technical blockers.
- Market feedback loop: Bring learnings from the Brazilian market back to Sales/Product/Engineering to improve messaging, packaging, and roadmap prioritization.
What success looks like:
- Prospects understand how BRAINR fits into their existing technology landscape.
- Sales opportunities progress with fewer unresolved technical questions and stronger customer confidence.
- Demonstrations and validations are relevant, reliable, and tailored to each opportunity.
- Risks and dependencies are identified before commercial commitments are made.
You may be a great fit if you have:
- Experience as a Sales Engineer, Pre-Sales Engineer, Solutions Engineer, Solutions Consultant, Solutions Architect, Technical Consultant, or in a similar customer-facing role.
- Experience supporting consultative B2B or enterprise software sales cycles.
- The ability to translate customer systems and requirements into credible technical solutions.
- Confidence leading technical discovery, product demonstrations, and conversations with different stakeholders.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical topics clearly.
- Native or fluent Brazilian Portuguese; professional English.
- Availability to spend around 2 weeks in Portugal at our headquarters for onboarding.
- We are flexible about your location within Brazil. However, you must be available to attend industry fairs, factory visits, and in-person meetings across the country.
- Being able to communicate in Spanish would be a strong plus.
- Experience in food manufacturing, meat, poultry, food processing, or another complex industrial environment.
- Knowledge of industrial operations or systems such as MES, ERP, WMS, QMS, production planning, or shop-floor integrations.
- Experience designing and executing proofs of concept or technical pilots.
- Knowledge of implementation scoping or digital-transformation projects.
