Job summary

Generac in Bahrain seeks a Purchasing Officer to support sourcing and procurement for the local generator factory and wider business. The role converts approved purchase requests into POs, follows orders through delivery, supplier payments and PO closure in the ERP system, and supports supplier onboarding as sourcing moves to local suppliers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
• 2-4 years of experience in purchasing, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Hands-on purchasing experience in an ERP system.
• Strong Excel and numerical skills.
• Working knowledge of Incoterms, the RFQ and quotation comparison process, and basic negotiation.
• Fluent in English and Arabic, spoken and written, to work with local and international suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Receive purchase requests from various departments, ensure completeness and approval before processing.
• Create POs in the ERP system and route for approval per the Schedule of Authority.
• Send approved POs to suppliers and obtain confirmations on price, qty, date and terms.
• Coordinate inbound shipments with Logistics and follow up on deliveries.
• Resolve delivery issues and discrepancies with suppliers and receivers.
• Follow up with Finance on supplier invoices and payments; close POs in ERP.
• Onboard new suppliers and maintain supplier master data; approve bank details changes.
• Prepare monthly purchasing reports and ensure compliance with procedures.
