Job summary

Generac in Bahrain is seeking a Purchasing Officer to support the Supply Chain Supervisor in sourcing and purchasing for the Bahrain generator factory and broader business. Responsibilities

• Purchase requests are converted into purchase orders in the ERP system and tracked to delivery, supplier payment and PO closure.
• Prepare RFQs, compare quotes, select suppliers, and monitor prices and lead times.
• Onboard new suppliers and maintain supplier master data in the ERP system.
• Maintain complete PO files, generate monthly purchasing reports, and ensure ISO9001 compliance and adherence to company policies.

Job description

The Purchasing Officer supports the Supply Chain Supervisor in sourcing and purchasing for the Bahrain generator factory and the wider business.

The role turns approved purchase requests into purchase orders and follows each order through to delivery, supplier payment and PO closure in the ERP system.

It also supports sourcing and supplier onboarding as GJG moves from a small number of overseas sources to local suppliers and direct buying from component manufacturers.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities Purchasing (Purchase Request to PO Closure)

Receive purchase requests, check completeness, create purchase orders in the ERP system, obtain order confirmation, follow up with suppliers and internal stakeholders, resolve delivery issues, follow up on invoices and payments, and close POs.

Sourcing Support

Prepare RFQs, compare quotes, recommend suppliers, track supplier prices and lead times.

Supplier Management

Onboard new suppliers, create supplier accounts in the ERP system, maintain master data.

Reporting, Records and Compliance

Maintain complete purchase order files, prepare monthly purchasing reports, comply with ISO9001 and company policies.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.

2–4 years of experience in purchasing, preferably in manufacturing.

Hands-on purchasing experience in an ERP system.

Strong Excel and numerical skills.

Fluent in English and Arabic.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Oracle ERP.

CIPS certification.
