Job summary

Union in Manama, BH seeks a experienced Quantity Surveying Engineer with a strong construction background to manage quantity surveying, estimation, cost control, tendering, and commercial aspects of construction projects. The role will involve close coordination with project teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and management.

The position requires a Bachelor’s/Diploma in Quantity Surveying or related field with 3–7 years of experience, proficiency in Excel/AutoCAD, and Bahrain/GCC construction

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• 3–7 years of relevant experience in Quantity Surveying within the construction industry.
• Experience with BOQs, quantity take-offs, estimation, costing, valuations, variations, and final accounts.
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts and commercial procedures.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and QS/estimation software.
• Bahrain/GCC construction experience is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate quantity take-offs, BOQs, estimates, and cost calculations.
• Review drawings and specifications (architectural, structural, civil, MEP).
• Conduct site measurements and verify quantities.
• Prepare and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Monitor project costs, budgets, and wastage.
• Prepare variations, claims, interim valuations, and final accounts.
• Assist with tender preparation, commercial evaluations, and contract administration.
• Monitor progress against budgets and identify cost overruns.
• Coordinate with project managers, procurement, subcontractors, and consultants.
• Maintain records of measurements, contracts, variations, payments, and costs.
• Prepare regular cost and commercial reports for management.
• Support cost-saving and value-engineering initiatives.

• Strong knowledge of construction contracts and commercial procedures.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and QS/estimation software.
• Strong analytical, numerical, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Bahrain/GCC construction experience is highly preferred.
• Must be currently available in Bahrain.
• Immediate joiners are highly preferred.

Preferred Experience

• Candidates with experience in villa, residential, high-rise, commercial, fit-out, or general building construction projects will be highly considered.
