Era Projects in Manama is seeking a locally available Commercial Engineer (QS Engineer) to join the team on a full-time, on-site basis. The role focuses on preparing cost estimates, BOQs, and cost plans, with emphasis on accurate take-offs and pricing for civil works and basic MEP quantities.

The ideal candidate will have 3–7 years of QS experience, a related engineering degree, and strong English/Hindi communication skills, along with proficiency in Excel and take-off software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, QS, or related field.
• 3–7 years in QS engineer role.
• Knowledge of civil construction and basic MEP quantities.
• Understanding of GCC contracts and commercial practices.
• Fluent English and Hindi, both spoken and written.

Job Description

Prepare accurate cost estimates, Bills of Quantities (BOQ), and cost plans based on architectural and structural drawings. Prepare quantity take-offs and measurements for civil works, with basic understanding of MEP quantities. Analyze material pricing, labour rates, and subcontractor quotations to support accurate project costing. Assist in procurement activities, vendor negotiations, and commercial evaluations. Assist in administering main contracts and subcontracts, with good understanding of GCC contract conditions. Conduct site measurements and prepare valuations for completed works and interim payment applications. Assess and price variations, change orders, and site instructions. Monitor project costs, expenditures, and cost reconciliation, including preparation of cash flow forecasts. Prepare monthly commercial reports, final accounts, and claim assessments for management review. Read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings and specifications to derive accurate quantities. Use quantity take-off and measurement software, along with MS Excel, for cost analysis and project tracking.

Qualification

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
• 3 to 7 years of experience in a similar Quantity Surveying / QS Engineer role.
• Good knowledge of civil construction and basic knowledge of MEP quantities.
• Good understanding of GCC construction contracts and commercial practices.
• Good command of English and Hindi, both spoken and written.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and familiarity with quantity surveying/take-off software.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and commercial skills.
