Job summary

Jobs2Web in Bahrain seeks an Application Analyst to support development, testing, troubleshooting and piloting IT applications across K&A. You will train end users and coordinate license renewals, keeping pace with market trends and best practices.

Responsibilities include capturing user requirements, translating them into new application ideas, developing SRS, and assisting with roll-outs and documentation across offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.
• IT certifications preferred (e.g. MCSE, CCIE, CISSP, CCNA).
• Knowledge of IT applications development and management.
• Knowledge of software coding and tools (e.g. C, C++, Java, Python).
• Proficiency in spoken and written English; Arabic is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Modify applications based on user feedback, as needed.
• Support in researching and identifying new IT applications and software.
• Develop and maintain applications enabling K&A operations.
• Assist in developing detailed Software Requirements Specifications (SRS).
• Support license negotiation, procurement and renewal across all K&A offices.
• Develop code for in-house applications and home-grown solutions.
• Test new applications and fix bugs accordingly.
• Build and leverage a bugs database for issue tracking.
• Develop documentation and guides related to in-house applications.
• Support procurement and vendor negotiations for new applications.
• Develop roll-out plans for new applications across K&A offices.

Job description

The Application Analyst support in developing, testing, troubleshooting and assist in the piloting and roll out of new IT applications across K&A in a timely and cost-effective manner to enable business needs. He also trains end users across K&A to ensure their proper understanding of the use and functionality of applications. He also coordinates with internal counterparts to ensure the timely renewal of all software licenses for K&A users across all offices. The jobholder shall stay abreast of the latest market developments and trends in the Information Technology space and adopt best practices, where applicable.

Key Responsibilities (Customer Focus)

• Capture end usersâ requirements and challenges related to IT applications
• Transform applications requirements from design Departments, Geographies and Corporate functions into new application ideas
• Train end users across K&A to ensure proper understanding of the use and functionality of applications
• Modify applications based on user feedback, as needed

Key Responsibilities (Internal Business Process)

• Support in researching and identifying new IT applications and software to ensure K&A is at the forefront of technology
• Support in developing and maintaining applications enabling K&A operations
• Assist in developing detailed Software Requirements Specifications (SRS)
• Support the negotiation, procurement and renewal of software licenses to ensure business continuity across all K&A offices
• Develop code for in-house applications and home-grown solutions
• Test new applications and fix bugs accordingly
• Build and leverage an application bugs database to track issues and resolutions
• Assist in development of all required documentation and guides (e.g. training, operational and user guides, etc.) related to applications developed in-house
• Support technically in procuring new applications, including writing specifications, evaluating received bids and supporting in the negotiation with selected vendors
• Support with the development of a roll-out plan of new applications across K&A offices
• Implement corporate policies and procedures

Qualification, Technical Skills and Competencies

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field
• IT certification is preferred (e.g. MCSE, CCIE, CISSP, CCNA)
• Knowledge of the Architecture, Engineering and Planning Industry applications and software requirements is an advantage
• Knowledge of IT applications development and management
• Knowledge of software coding and tools (e.g. C, C++, Java, Python etc.)
• Good analytical and qualitative skills
• Proficiency in spoken and written English; Arabic is an advantage
