imec in Leuven, Belgium seeks an experienced R&D Engineer for Bevel management to reshape wafer bevels in a cleanroom using trimming, deposition, etching or polishing techniques. You join the BA​W team in MATA to support 3D integration projects and collaborate with researchers, hardware engineers and industrial partners.

You will contribute to metrology-driven materials research, report progress through internal and external channels, and help coordinate transfer of processes and tools to

Qualifications

• Master's degree in chemistry, physics, materials science or engineering (or related field).
• Experience with data analysis and material characterization.
• Knowledge of metallurgy/plasma/polymer processes is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Look for metrology solutions to characterize materials.
• Contribute to research programs and joint development with external partners.
• Collaborate across integration/process support/hardware teams and partners.
• Report work to internal and external partners and through publications.
• Initiate fundamental research on new materials and perform characterization and FA.
• Monitor industry trends and adapt to imec programs.
• Interface with device engineers to identify future needs.
• Coordinate and implement non-standard work in imec’s fab with engineers.
• Start-up of new equipment.
