Qualifications

Job description

We're currently recruiting for a System Engineer to act as the link between R&D, Operations and Production, ensuring that engineering activities are effectively coordinated throughout the product lifecycle.

Working across mechanical, electronic and software disciplines, you will help translate technical requirements into practical solutions that can be developed, manufactured and delivered efficiently.

This is a multidisciplinary role that combines technical understanding, project coordination and stakeholder management. Rather than focusing exclusively on one engineering specialism, you will take a system-level view of products and processes, ensuring that different teams work towards common objectives and that technical decisions are aligned with operational and production requirements.

You will play an important role in bridging the gap between product development and manufacturing, supporting the transition from initial design through to production and helping resolve issues that arise along the way.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the central point of contact between R&D, Operations and Production, ensuring effective communication, alignment and collaboration across teams.
• Understand how mechanical, electronic and software components interact within a complete system, identifying dependencies and potential integration challenges.
• Coordinate activities involved in transferring new or updated products from development into production, ensuring designs are suitable for manufacturing and assembly.
• Work with engineers and production teams to investigate technical issues, identify root causes and coordinate the implementation of effective solutions.
• Help translate product and system requirements into clear technical deliverables, ensuring that requirements are understood across the different engineering disciplines.
• Identify opportunities to improve product reliability, manufacturability, production efficiency and overall system performance.
• Monitor technical actions, priorities and milestones across departments, ensuring that issues are addressed and activities progress according to plan.
• Coordinate engineering changes and ensure that relevant updates are communicated effectively to R&D, Operations and Production.
• Maintain clear technical documentation relating to system requirements, design changes, integration activities and production processes.

Candidate Profile

• A degree in Engineering, such as Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience in a multidisciplinary engineering environment, ideally involving a combination of mechanical, electronic and software systems.
• An understanding of the product development lifecycle, including the transition from R&D into manufacturing or production.
• Strong communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively across different technical teams and departments.
• A structured approach to problem-solving, with the ability to understand complex technical issues and coordinate their resolution.
• Comfortable working across disciplines without necessarily being a specialist in every technical area.
• Proactive and organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain progress across different stakeholders.
• Fluent in English; additional language skills may be beneficial.
