Job summary

Johnson & Johnson is seeking an Associate Director of Strategic Capacity Planning to lead the 3–5+ year capacity horizon for the clinical manufacturing network. You will translate pipeline demand into an integrated capacity outlook spanning API, drug product, and packaging, coordinating with internal and external partners.

You will drive governance, scenario planning, and data-driven decision-making, with emphasis on cost, resilience, and risk mitigation across a matrixed organization.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in supply chain, capacity planning engineering, logistics, operations research, computing, finance or related field; MBA preferred.
• A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in strategic capacity planning, supply network planning, manufacturing or related discipline in pharma/biotech or related industry.
• Strong understanding of pharmaceutical development and manufacturing interdependencies (API, drug product, packaging, clinical supply).
• Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing senior stakeholders without direct authority.
• Proficiency with planning, data-analysis, and presentation tools; SAP/OMP experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end strategic capacity planning for 3–5+ year horizon across internal and external clinical manufacturing network.
• Develop integrated long-range capacity plan for API, drug product, and packaging activities.
• Align pipeline, sourcing, and portfolio assumptions with Portfolio Integration, CMC, Pilot Plant leaders, Planning, and external manufacturing partners.
• Establish planning standards, data requirements, governance, and performance measures to improve decision quality.
• Build scenarios quantifying capacity gaps, excess capacity, timing constraints, technology needs, and costs.
• Translate analyses into executive recommendations and trade-offs covering patient supply, cash flow, inventory, and commitments.
• Lead cross-functional scenario planning and align stakeholders on pilot plant/CMO/IMSC sourcing options.
• Anticipate future technology and capability needs and optimize enterprise capacity with IMSC planning.
