Job summary

Jones Engineering seeks a Senior Quantity Surveyor with an Electrical background to join our delivery teams on large Data Centre projects in Belgium. This is an exciting growth project where an ambitious QS can progress with support from senior commercial staff.

Key responsibilities include contract compliance, risk reporting, monthly valuations, procurement and subcontractor management, turnover forecasting and on-site mentorship of the commercial team.

Qualifications

• Relevant third level qualification essential in Quantity Surveying/ Construction Economics.
• Data Centre experience preferable but not essential.
• Minimum 6+ years' experience post qualification essential.
• Experience in an Electrical role required.

Responsibilities

• Support Construction Team on all Quantity Surveying functions.
• Identify commercial risks and report to management.
• Prepare monthly progress applications with remeasurements and variations.
• Procurement support with Contracts/POs and subcontractor management.
• Forecast turnover and cash flow for projects.
• Ensure accurate reporting and contract compliance across projects.
• Mentor and manage the wider Commercial Team on site.

Job description

Due to continued expansion in our Data Centre division, Jones Engineering require a Senior QS preferablywith an Electrical background to join the delivery teams for large Data Centre Project in Belgium. This Data Centre Project is in a region where further growth is expected and is an opportunity for an ambitious Quantity Surveyor to grow their career with support and guidance from our senior commercial staff members.

Responsibilities

To provide support to Construction Team on all Quantity Surveying functions including, but not limited to the following:

• Ensure compliance with contract obligations and provide advice and monitoring of same to construction team
• Ability to identify potential commercial risks and ensure prompt reporting of same to management
• Compile monthly progress applications and ensure they are inclusive of accurate remeasure, site variations, day-works or claims
• Procurement - operational procurement activity and contract support, in conjunction with the Procurement Department
• Manage subcontractor accounts from initial award to interim valuation, variations and final account
• Managing and forecasting of turnover and cash flow of the projects
• Reviewing and commercial management of all projects, to ensure accurate and reliable reporting
• Identify, Analyse and report on trends within the Business & Projects
• Review all incoming correspondence from Employers, Design Team and /or subcontractors, to identify contractually critical items and to initiate replies
• To ensure Construction Team is adhering to all Contractual Requirements and providing advice and monitoring of same
• Manage and mentor the wider Commercial Team on site.
• All other duties associated with this role

Key Skills/ Requirements

• Relevant third level qualification essential in Quantity Surveying/ Construction Economics
