Job summary

Xintas in Belgium is seeking a systems engineer to provide advanced operational support for Linux-based IT infrastructure. You will diagnose OS-level issues, perform routine maintenance, and implement changes following defined processes.

The role emphasizes automation, IaC, and monitoring integration to ensure secure, scalable environments. You will work across IT teams, participate in R&D, evaluate new technologies, and contribute to solution prototypes.

Qualifications

Minimum 4 years of experience in IT operations, managing Linux-based infrastructure in large-scale environments.
End-to-end lifecycle management of Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments.
Experience with enterprise tooling including Red Hat Satellite 6.x.
System performance tuning, troubleshooting, and OS-level diagnostics.
Automation & Infrastructure as Code, including Ansible.
Familiarity with IaC principles and pipeline integration.
Experience integrating automation with monitoring and operational workflows.
Git-based workflows (GitLab, Azure DevOps, or similar).
Understanding of CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure deployment.
Container technologies and Red Hat container ecosystem (Podman/OCI).
ITSM processes: incident, problem, change management.
Monitoring-driven operations, diagnostics, and forensics.

Responsibilities

Provide advanced operational support for Linux-based IT infrastructure.
Diagnose and resolve OS-level issues; perform routine maintenance.
Implement system changes following established processes and standards.
Collaborate with teams to maintain secure, compliant, and well-monitored environments.
Contribute to R&D initiatives; evaluate new technologies and prototypes.
Improve automation through scripting and IaC to reduce manual effort.
