Job summary

i4m seeks an experienced Linux system engineer to support a critical Linux-based infrastructure in Brussels. You will drive stability, performance, security, and reliability while contributing to automation, problem resolution, and continuous improvement across the platform.

You will work with Ansible, IaC tooling, and scripting to optimize operations, manage incidents, and implement changes. Remote work is possible under policy with occasional Berlin travel.

Qualifications

• At least 4 years in IT operations managing Linux-based infrastructure.
• Experience in ITIL-aligned incident, problem, change, and service request management.
• Strong emphasis on monitoring, diagnostics, and incident analysis.
• Exposure to Oracle/MySQL/PostgreSQL databases is a plus.
• Experience with VMware, NetApp storage, or similar is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day operational support for Linux-based infrastructure and resolve incidents promptly.
• Diagnose and resolve OS-level issues, perform maintenance and implement approved changes.
• Contribute to problem management by identifying root causes and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with teams to maintain secure, compliant, well-monitored environments.
• Engage in R&D activities evaluating new technologies and prototyping solutions.
• Improve efficiency via scripting, IaC, and automated workflows.
• Support monitoring-driven operations, diagnostics, and forensics to increase reliability.
