EngiFlex in Belgium is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead complex CAPEX projects in an industrial process setting from feasibility to handover. You will own scope, budget, baseline schedule in MS Project, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage risks and change control, and secure investment approvals and commissioning across greenfield and major modifications.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience as a Project Manager in the process/industrial sector.
• Minimum 7 years as a Project Engineer in mechanical, electrical, piping or civil engineering.
• Solid experience with pre-feasibility and concept studies, CAPEX budgeting, investment approvals and commissioning.
• Experience in the process industry is required.
• Strong MS Project skills and ability to own project schedules end‑to‑end.
• Fluency in Dutch and English.

Industrial investment projects in a process environment

In this role, you lead complex multidisciplinary CAPEX projects within an industrial process setting from start to finish. You retain full responsibility throughout the project lifecycle for scope, budget, timing, quality and safety. The assignment covers both greenfield initiatives and substantial modifications to existing industrial installations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead industrial engineering projects from feasibility and concept phase through commissioning and final handover to operations.
• Set and manage project scope, deliverables, budget, business case, investment approval and the baseline schedule in MS Project.
• Steer all project stages, including pre-study, concept selection, basic and detailed engineering, procurement, contractor selection, construction, on‑site execution, commissioning and transfer.
• Serve as the main accountable point of contact for stakeholders and management during the full project trajectory.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary internal and external teams across mechanical, electrical, automation, piping, civil and EHS domains.
• Control scope changes, project risks, claims and deviations with impact on cost or planning.
• Provide clear reporting on progress, decisions and issues to steering committees and senior stakeholders.

Your profile

Technical profile requirements

• You have at least 10 years of experience as a Project Manager, with proven end‑to‑end ownership of industrial CAPEX projects.
• You also bring at least 7 years of experience as a Project Engineer in disciplines such as mechanical, electrical, piping or civil engineering.
• You have solid experience with pre‑feasibility and concept studies, CAPEX budgeting, investment approval processes and the commissioning of industrial installations.
• Experience in the process industry is required.
• You have strong hands‑on expertise in MS Project and are used to building and owning project schedules, not just tracking them.
• You work at academic level and combine strong analytical capabilities with a broad helicopter view.

Methodology / certification requirements

• VCA-Vol is mandatory.
• PMP / Prince2 is a plus.
