Kintec Global Recruitment is seeking a senior Project Manager for on-site leadership of industrial CAPEX projects in Olen, Belgium. You will own the full project lifecycle from pre-study to commissioning, coordinating mechanical, electrical, and civil disciplines and reporting to senior stakeholders.

Requires 10+ years in project management and 7+ years in project engineering, with hands-on MS Project experience and a strong analytical mindset for complex industrial environments.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years' experience as Project Manager with A-Z ownership of industrial (CAPEX) projects.
• Minimum 7 years' experience as Project Engineer (mechanical, electrical, piping, civil, etc.).
• Mandatory experience in the process industry.
• Strong hands-on experience with MS Project (planning ownership).
• Academic working level with strong analytical and helicopter view.

Responsabilités

• Full end-to-end ownership of industrial engineering projects from concept to handover.
• Definition and ownership of project scope and deliverables, budget, and baseline planning.
• Leading multidisciplinary teams across mechanical, electrical, automation, piping, civil, and EHS.
• Managing scope changes, risks, claims, and deviations on budget and schedule.
• Reporting to steering committees and senior stakeholders.

Department Description and Responsibilities

Project Engineering is responsible for the delivery of large-scale industrial (CAPEX) projects within production, infrastructure, and R&D environments, covering the full project lifecycle from pre-study to commissioning and handover.

Project Description

Lead complex, multidisciplinary industrial engineering projects, with full accountability for scope, budget, planning, quality, and safety. Projects include both new installations and major modifications of existing assets within the process industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Full end-to-end ownership of industrial engineering projects from concept and feasibility phase through commissioning and handover
• Definition and ownership of:
• Project scope and deliverables
• Budget (including business case and investment approval)
• Baseline project planning (MS Project)
• Leading and coordinating all project phases:
• Pre-study & concept selection
• Basic and detailed engineering
• Procurement & contractor selection
• Commissioning and handover to operations
• Acting as single point of accountability towards internal stakeholders and management
• Leading multidisciplinary teams (internal & external) across mechanical, electrical, automation, piping, civil, and EHS
• Managing scope changes, risks, claims, and deviations on budget and schedule
• Reporting to steering committees and senior stakeholders

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years' experience as Project Manager with proven A-Z ownership of industrial (CAPEX) projects
• Minimum 7 years' experience as Project Engineer (mechanical, electrical, piping, civil, etc.)
• Demonstrated experience in:
• Pre-feasibility & concept studies
• CAPEX budgeting and investment approval
• Commissioning of industrial installations
• Mandatory experience in the process industry
• Strong hands-on experience with MS Project (planning ownership, not follow-up only)
• Academic working level with strong analytical and helicopter view

Non-Technical Requirements

• Acts autonomously with full accountability mindset
• Strong leadership skills: able to challenge stakeholders and contractors
• Excellent communicator at all organisational levels
• Natural authority in complex industrial environments
• VCA-Vol (mandatory)
• PMP / Prince2 is a plus
• Dutch: Native / Fluent
