EngiFlex in Belgium Olen seeks an experienced Project Manager to oversee complex, multidisciplinary CAPEX projects in the process industry. You will own scope, budget, planning, quality and safety, from greenfield installations to major modifications.

You will lead cross‑functional teams (mechanical, electrical, automation, piping, civil and EHS), manage risks and changes, and report to steering committees with a strong emphasis on MS Project planning and stakeholder governance.

Qualifications

• 10+ years experience as a Project Manager in CAPEX projects.
• 7+ years experience as a Project Engineer in mechanical, electrical, piping or civil engineering.
• Experience with pre-feasibility studies, CAPEX budgeting and commissioning.
• Process industry experience mandatory.
• Hands-on MS Project and proactive planning ownership.
• Academic level with strong analytical capabilities and helicopter view.

Project overview

As Project Manager, you oversee complex multidisciplinary CAPEX projects in the process industry. You carry full responsibility for scope, budget, planning, quality and safety, covering both greenfield installations and substantial modifications to existing industrial assets.

Primary Tasks & Responsibilities

• Manage industrial engineering projects from initial concept and feasibility through to commissioning and final transfer to operations.
• Set and control project scope, deliverables, budget, business case, investment approval and baseline planning in MS Project.
• Coordinate every project stage: pre-study and concept selection, basic and detailed engineering, procurement and contractor selection, construction and on-site execution, commissioning, and operational handover.
• Serve as the main point of accountability for internal stakeholders and management.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams spanning mechanical, electrical, automation, piping, civil and EHS domains, in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
• Handle scope changes, risks, claims and deviations that influence budget or timing.
• Provide structured reporting on progress, issues and decisions to steering committees and senior stakeholders.

Your profile

Technical profile requirements

• You have at least 10 years of experience as a Project Manager, with proven end-to-end ownership of industrial CAPEX projects.
• You have at least 7 years of experience as a Project Engineer in fields such as mechanical, electrical, piping or civil engineering.
• You have demonstrated experience with pre-feasibility and concept studies, CAPEX budgeting, investment approval and commissioning of industrial installations.
• Experience in the process industry is mandatory.
• You have strong hands‑on expertise in MS Project and take ownership of project planning rather than only follow‑up.
• You combine an academic working level with strong analytical capabilities and a helicopter view.

• You demonstrate strong leadership and are able to challenge stakeholders and contractors when necessary.
• You communicate clearly and effectively with stakeholders at all organisational levels.
• You bring natural authority in complex industrial settings.

Methodology / certification requirements

• VCA-Vol is mandatory.
• PMP / Prince2 is a plus.
