SOFICO in Ghent is seeking a Senior Data Warehouse & Analytics Specialist to maintain and optimize our reporting ecosystem while designing innovative solutions for emerging data needs. You’ll play a key role in migrating from Synapse to a modern data warehouse and collaborating with the central data team to translate data into business value.

You’ll work with Snowflake, Power BI, Azure Data Lake, and SQL in an agile environment. English is required, Dutch is a plus.

Qualifications

• Senior-level experience (5+ years) in data warehousing and analytics.
• Proven enterprise data warehousing experience.
• Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
• Experience with data visualization, preferably Power BI.
• Knowledge of SQL and data modeling principles.
• Experience with ETL/ELT processes.
• Strong communication in English; Dutch is nice to have.
• Driven to learn new tools, technologies, and methodologies.

In this role, you'll maintain and optimize our current reporting ecosystem while designing innovative solutions to address emerging data needs. You will play a key role in driving the migration from Synapse to our modernized data warehousing environment and, as part of our central data team, collaborate to solve complex technical challenges, identify new opportunities, and translate data into real business value. What you’ll do

• Design, maintain, and enhance our Data Warehouse environment
• Add knowledge and insights to the team, both in terms of data warehousing and data visualization
• Ensure high-quality data ingestion processes and drive continuous improvement in our data infrastructure
• Develop and refine Power BI dashboards and reports for business stakeholders
• Translate business requirements into robust data models and analytical solutions
• Identify gaps, propose improvements, and safeguard data reliability and performance
• Collaborate closely with both technical and business teams with a pragmatic, results-driven mindset

What you bring

• Senior-level experience (5+ years recommended)
• Proven experience with enterprise data warehousing
• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail
• Experience with data visualization, preferably Power BI
• Knowledge of SQL and data modeling principles
• Experience with ETL/ELT processes
• Strong communication skills in English, Dutch is nice to have
• Driven to learn new tools, technologies, and methodologies

Must have:

• Experience with Snowflake
• Experience with Power BI and DAX
• Experience with Azure Data Lake
• Experience working in an agile environment
