SOFICO, based in Ghent, Belgium, invites a Senior Go Backend Engineer to evolve Miles Enterprise with modern, self-service tooling. You will develop reliable Go backends, design configuration tooling, and collaborate across product, engineering, and business consultants.

You will contribute to backend engineering at scale, sharing knowledge and improving practices while leveraging AI-assisted tools and a passion for high-quality software.

• Strong REST API and microservices experience.
• Experience with automated testing and relational databases.
• Analytical, ownership-driven mindset with fluent English.

Responsabilités

• Design, build and maintain backend services in Go focused on reliability.
• Lead configuration management and self-service tooling for Miles Enterprise.

From our office in Ghent, we're looking for aSenior Go Backend Engineer who's eager to help evolve the way consultants and customers configure Miles Enterprise through modern, self-service tooling, while contributing to broader backend engineering across our platform.

What you'll do...

• Design, build and maintain backend services, primarily in Go, with a strong focus on reliability, performance and maintainability.
• Lead the design and evolution of configuration management and self-service tooling for Miles Enterprise.
• Work closely with Product Owners, engineers and business consultants to translate complex requirements into reliable technical solutions.
• Take ownership of broader backend engineering challenges across the Miles Enterprise platform as you grow into the team.
• Contribute to our global engineering community by sharing knowledge, improving development practices and helping shape how we build software at SOFICO.

What you bring...

• Strong professional backend software engineering experience with Go. 2+ years of professional Go experience
• Solid experience designing and developing REST APIs, microservices and enterprise integrations.
• Strong experience with automated testing and relational databases, with a focus on building reliable, production-ready software.
• An analytical and ownership-driven mindset, fluent English, and an interest in using AI-assisted engineering tools throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Experience with Java/Quarkus alongside Go.
• Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ or other event-driven technologies.
• Experience working with complex domain models, enterprise platforms or leasing/fleet management software.
