Job summary

Sander is seeking an Accounting & Financial Controller for its Brussels team. This role combines daily accounting, budgeting, reporting and financial analysis within an international hospitality context.

You will work closely with the Financial Controller, own stepwise financial operations, and help optimise profitability. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in accounting/controlling, strong Excel skills and ERP familiarity, with fluency in English and French.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting, audit or financial controlling.
• Hospitality/retail or operational environment experience is a plus.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Good Excel skills and familiarity with ERP systems are expected.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting activities including AP, AR and GL.
• Assist monthly/annual closings, reconciliations and financial reporting.
• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting and P&L analysis.
• Monitor costs, purchasing and financial performance.
• Prepare financial reports and provide insights for business decisions.
• Collaborate with managers to analyse results and control expenses.
• Support and guide junior finance colleagues.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and internal controls.
• Work with Financial Controller on accounting and controlling projects.

Accounting & Financial Controller | Your duties and responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting activities, including AP, AR and general ledger operations.
• Participate in monthly and annual closings, reconciliations and financial reporting.
• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting and P&L analysis.
• Monitor operational costs, purchasing activities and financial performance.
• Prepare financial reports and provide relevant insights to support business decisions.
• Collaborate with department managers to analyse results, control expenses and optimise profitability.
• Support and guide junior finance colleagues in their daily activities.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting and internal controls.
• Work closely with the Financial Controller on various accounting and controlling projects.

Accounting & Financial Controller | Ideal profile

• Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting, audit or financial controlling. Experience in hospitality, retail or another operational environment is an advantage.
• Languages: Fluent English and a good command of French. Any additional language is an asset.
• Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field, or equivalent experience. Good Excel skills and familiarity with ERP systems are expected.

• Salary: around €4,000 gross/month, depending on experience.
