Jobgether is seeking a Senior Embedded Linux Software Engineer focused on optimisation, based in Belgium but embracing a fully remote role with global collaboration. You will optimize Linux across the full software stack for next-generation hardware, spanning kernel, system software, middleware, and graphics, partnering with hardware teams and IoT/server customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, STEM, or related discipline or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong professional experience developing software for Linux-based environments.
• Hands-on experience with Debian, RPM, or Yocto packaging.
• Strong programming experience in C and C++.
• Experience with open-source communities and licensing.
• Solid understanding of Linux systems across stack layers.
• Experience working in globally distributed teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with graphics stacks is a plus.
• Good understanding of networking: TCP/IP, DHCP, HTTP/REST.
• Understanding of security best practices for IoT/embedded/server environments.
• Experience across embedded platforms and hardware such as boards/SoCs/BMCs.

Responsabilités

• Design and implement optimized Linux integrations for IoT, embedded, desktop, and server hardware.
• Collaborate with hardware/tech partners to deliver high-performance Linux experiences.
• Lead technical efforts on architectures spanning cloud, edge, OS, and apps.
• Support customers with integration, SDK adoption, and OS image creation.
• Work across the Linux stack from low-level components to apps and GUI.
• Investigate and resolve performance and compatibility issues across configurations.
• Coordinate with distributed teams and partners for platform features and optimizations.
• Contribute to open-source projects and maintain high-quality packaging practices.
