Job summary

Econocom Belgium is seeking an IT Asset Officer to manage the full lifecycle of IT assets in a public sector setting. You will ensure governance, procurement compliance, and cost-efficient asset management across hardware, software and licenses.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in IT asset management or IT operations.
• Knowledge of public procurement rules and regulations (EU standards).
• Experience with asset management tools and software licensing compliance.
• Strong analytical, organizational and documentation skills.
• Understanding of public sector governance, transparency and accountability.

Responsibilities

• Maintain centralized inventory of all IT assets (hardware, software, licenses).
• Ensure asset lifecycle management per public sector procurement and disposal regulations.
• Monitor software licensing to guarantee compliance and reduce risk.
• Collaborate with procurement, finance and internal audit for compliant asset tracking.
• Implement policies for asset registration, usage and decommissioning.
• Coordinate asset audits and reconcile discrepancies in records.
• Provide reports to support audits, planning and decision-making.
• Support digital transformation and sustainability through optimized asset use.
• Promote adherence to IT asset management practices across departments.
