IBA, the world leader in proton therapy, is seeking a Power Electronics Engineer to define power supply specifications and collaborate with suppliers throughout the design process. You will support integration and performance of our high-power DC solutions used to energize magnets in proton therapy, industrial, and radiopharmaceutical applications.

You will contribute to projects, test power supplies on LLN or abroad, and help troubleshoot either remotely or on-site.

Qualifications

• Master degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering with focus on Power Electronics.
• First relevant experience in Power Electronics.
• Experience in design of converters, inverters, power supplies.
• Experience in analog design and measurements.
• Familiarity with IEC/EN 60204 and IEC/EN 61439 or equivalents is an asset.
• Understanding EMC aspects and related standards is required.
• Good knowledge of magnetism; loads fed by power supplies are magnets.
• Knowledge of Python/Matlab; LT-Spice or/and Microcap; Altium/EAGLE would be an added benefit.
• Good communication skills in English and French.

Join IBA, the world leader in proton therapy, and contribute to the development of high-power electrical systems used in cutting-edge particle accelerators. As a Power Electronics Engineer, you will define power supply specifications, collaborate with suppliers throughout the design process, and support the integration and performance of our solutions. Working on innovative international projects, you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability of systems used in proton therapy, industrial, and radiopharmaceutical applications. Our installations rely on high-power DC supplies ranging from 200 kW to 600 kW to power the electromagnets that guide particles throughout the accelerator.

What We Value

• Possess knowledge and experience in the effective design of complex projects
• Have familiarity with a diverse range of converter, inverter, power supply.
• Have experience in analog design and measurements.
• Understand electrical safety standards such as IEC/EN 60204 (\"Safety of machinery. Electrical equipment of machines\"), IEC/EN 61439 (\"Low-voltage switchgear and control gear assemblies\") or equivalent, which is an asset
• The understanding of EMC aspects and associated standards is required
• Good knowledge of magnetism. The loads fed by our power supplies are essentially magnets.
• Skills in Python/Matlab; LT-Spice or/and Microcap; Altium/EAGLE would be added benefit
• Have good communication skills in English and French

Compensation Package

The total guaranteed annual compensation range (which includes annual base salary, as well as flexible budget if applicable, and car budget in specific locations) for this position is provided below.

Total gross guaranteed annual compensation range: [60.200 – 91.600]

The salary range indicated above is provided in compliance with applicable pay transparency requirements and reflects the typical compensation scope for this position based on the role's level of responsibility, required expertise, and location. The actual offer will be determined on an individual basis, taking into account objective and gender-neutral factors including relevant professional experience, qualifications, specific competencies, and internal equity. The range does not constitute a guaranteed salary and is subject to adjustment based on the final assessment of the selected candidate's profile. The role might also qualify for additional compensation elements such as variable pay, profit sharing, and benefits which are not reflected in this range.
