Job summary

Phinest, a Belgian management consulting firm, is seeking a PMO Consultant to oversee ambitious projects and strengthen governance across client initiatives.

You will coordinate activities, monitor progress, assess risks, and liaise with steering committees while thriving in a matrix organisation. Fluent French and English are required; Dutch is a plus.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Management, Engineering or equivalent.
• 2–10 years of proven experience as a PMO or related function.
• Strong analytical and critical mindset.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate activities of various projects and improve project governance.
• Monitor project progress, identify bottlenecks, and resolve issues to keep projects on track.
• Assess project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and monitor risk factors throughout the lifecycle.
• Assess financial impact of delays or scope changes and recommend actions.
• Report to and liaise with Steering committee to align on project objectives and strategies.
• Provide support to Project Manager and coordinate key actions and stakeholders’ management.

Position: Project Management Officer

Responsabilities:

As a PMO Consultant at Phinest, you will play a critical role in overseeing and facilitating ambitious projects.

• Coordinate the activities of various projects and improve project governance
• Monitor project progress, identify bottlenecks, and proactively resolve issues to keep projects on track.
• Identify and assess project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and monitor risk factors throughout the project lifecycle.
• Assess the financial impact of project delays or scope changes and recommend corrective actions.
• Report to and liaise with Steering committee to align on projects objectives and strategies
• Give support to Project Manager, Coordinate key actions and stakeholders’ management

Skills and Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Management, Engineering or equivalent
• 2 to 10 years of a proven experience as a Project Management Officer or related functions
• Solid organisational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
• Strong analytical and critical mindset
• Willingness to take on project ownership and accountability
• Good business acumen in project planning and management
• Prior experience with a project methodology: Agile, PMP, Prince2 etc (Certifications is a plus)
• Ability to operate effectively in a matrix organisation where the workload requires balancing multiple responsibilities and priorities simultaneously
• Ability to communicate strategically with various stakeholder including a business audience
• Enthusiastic and are able to motivate other team member
• Fast paced, changing environment doesn’t scare you. On the contrary, you work well with ambiguity, challenge conventional wisdom; and can effectively evaluate ideas and make sound architectural recommendations thanks to your can-do attitude.
• Effective time management and ability to clearly identify priorities and manage multiple tasks
• Flexible and able to adapt quickly to a new environment
• Languages:
• Must be able to speak fluently in French AND English,
• Dutch is an asset
