Job summary

SGS is seeking a commercially driven Business Development Manager to lead new business growth for Pharma QC laboratory services across Europe. You will identify opportunities in the European (bio)pharmaceutical sector and build a strong pipeline.

You will own acquisition from lead to contract, conduct consultative selling, and negotiate profitable agreements. Inside Sales will assist with quotations while you focus on relationship-building with decision-makers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in pharmaceutical sciences, life sciences, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of successful sales or business development experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory QC requirements, GMP and FDA expectations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English; additional European languages are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Identify, target and acquire new customers in the European (bio)pharmaceutical sector.
• Build and execute a proactive account acquisition plan, including cold outreach, networking, referrals, and industry events.
• Create and maintain a healthy, qualified sales pipeline and take full ownership of opportunities from lead generation to closing.
• Lead negotiations, overcome objections and close profitable contracts in line with commercial targets.
• Represent SGS Pharma laboratory services at conventions, exhibitions, professional associations and targeted networking events.
