Job summary

Tiense Suikerraffinaderij, Merksem factory, is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead production operations and collaborate across maintenance, planning and investments. You will drive safety, quality and operational excellence while mentoring a skilled team of operators and leaders.

The role combines hands-on leadership with strategic project involvement in a modern, data‑driven environment, fostering ownership and cross‑functional teamwork.

Qualifications

• Master degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• 5–10 years in manufacturing with maintenance and continuous improvement experience.
• Proven experience in managing teams with coaching skills.
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations and food safety standards.
• Collaborative mindset and team‑player attitude.
• Hands-on and open communication with ownership of work.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day production operations of the plant.
• Lead, coach and develop team leaders and operators.
• Coordinate and optimize production planning and supply chain activities.
• Act as project leader for investment and capital expenditure projects.
• Promote safety, food safety, quality and operational excellence.
• Drive continuous improvement using data and practical know‑how.
