Job summary

Tiense Suikerraffinaderij's Merksem plant is seeking an experienced and hands-on Operations Manager to lead production operations, coordinate maintenance and supply chain activities, and steer capital investment projects.

You will coach and develop team leaders and operators, promote safety, food safety, quality and operational excellence, and foster a collaborative, data-driven environment where autonomy and teamwork go hand in hand.

Qualifications

• Master degree in Engineering (Industrial Eng., Bio-Eng., Mechanical Eng., Electromechanical Eng., Chemical Eng.), or equivalent through experience.
• 5–10 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with maintenance management and continuous improvement methodologies is a strong asset.
• Proven experience in managing teams with coaching and motivational skills.
• Good knowledge of safety regulations and food safety standards.
• Collaborative mindset and a strong team-player attitude.
• Hands-on and no-nonsense work environment with open communication culture and team spirit.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day production operations of the manufacturing plant.
• Lead, coach, and develop team leaders and production operators.
• Coordinate and optimize production planning and supply chain activities.
• Act as project leader or core team member for investment and capital expenditure projects.
• Promote a strong culture of safety, food safety, quality, and operational excellence.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and data-driven decision making.
