Job summary

Tiense Suikerraffinaderij is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead the Merksem plant's day-to-day production, maintenance, and supply chain coordination. You will steer operations, align with investment projects, and foster a culture of safety, food safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

You will coach and develop team leaders and operators, promote open communication, and work in a hands-on, collaborative environment with a strong team spirit and ownership mindset.

Qualifications

• Master degree in Engineering (Industrial Engineering, Bio-Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering), or equivalent through experience.
• 5–10 years of relevant manufacturing experience.
• Experience with maintenance management and continuous improvement methodologies is a strong asset.
• Proven experience in managing teams with coaching and motivational skills.
• Good knowledge of safety regulations and food safety standards.
• A collaborative mindset and a strong team-player attitude.
• Hands-on and no-nonsense work environment with open communication culture and team spirit.

Responsibilities

• Managing the day-to-day production operations of the manufacturing plant.
• Leading, coaching, and developing team leaders and production operators.
• Coordinating and optimizing production planning and supply chain activities.
• Acting as project leader or core team member for investment and capital expenditure projects.
• Promoting a strong culture of safety, food safety, quality, and operational excellence.
