Job summary

DSJ Global represents a leading global freight forwarder recruiting for an Ocean Import & Export Specialist in Antwerp. You will manage import and export shipments from start to finish, ensuring timely delivery and top-notch service to customers.

Responsibilities include coordinating bookings, handling documentation, arranging customs paperwork, and keeping clients updated while working with inland transport and 3PLs to ensure smooth operations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate end-to-end ocean import and export shipments.
• Manage bookings with shipping lines, overseas offices, and transport providers.
• Prepare, review, and process import and export documentation.
• Arrange customs-related documentation and ensure compliance requirements are met.
• Monitor shipment progress and proactively resolve operational issues.
• Provide customers with regular updates and handle inquiries.
• Coordinate inland transportation, terminals, and third-party logistics providers.
• Maintain accurate shipment records and support invoicing activities.
• Work closely with internal departments and international partners to ensure smooth operations.

What You'll Be Doing

As an Ocean Import & Export Specialist, you'll be responsible for managing both import and export shipments from start to finish, ensuring efficient delivery while providing exceptional service to customers.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Coordinating end-to-end ocean import and export shipments
• Managing bookings with shipping lines, overseas offices, and transport providers
• Preparing, reviewing, and processing import and export documentation
• Arranging customs-related documentation and ensuring compliance requirements are met
• Monitoring shipment progress and proactively resolving operational issues
• Providing customers with regular updates and handling inquiries

What We're Looking For

• Experience within ocean freight forwarding operations, covering import, export, or both
• Strong understanding of international shipping processes and documentation
• Knowledge of customs procedures and trade compliance requirements
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple shipments in a fast-paced environment
• Proactive, solution-oriented, and customer-focused mindset
• Fluency in Dutch and English
