Brainsquare seeks a Lead .NET Software Engineer to strengthen the integration team within a global manufacturing context. You will combine hands-on coding with day-to-day technical leadership of two remote engineers, delivering high-volume, reliable integration components.

You will mentor peers, review code for performance and quality, and translate architectural direction into production-ready software in an Azure-native environment.

Your mission

We are looking for a Lead .NET Software Engineer to strengthen the integration team supporting a major service transformation program in a global manufacturing environment.

The program brings service-related processes into a Microsoft Dynamics environment and connects this platform with enterprise applications supporting production, distribution and sales. Reliable API's and messaging flows are essential to keeping these systems aligned.

Based in Belgium, you will combine hands-on engineering with day-to-day technical leadership of two remote Software Engineers. You will help the team maintain a steady sprint rhythm, review code, resolve technical blockers and deliver integration components that meet demanding performance and reliability requirements.

System architecture and overall solution design remain with the core architecture team. Your focus will be on translating that direction into well-engineered, production-ready software and consistent team delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the day-to-day technical work of two remote Software Engineers, ensuring clear task allocation and steady progress toward sprint objectives.

• Contribute production code using C#, .NET 10 and Azure Function Apps.

• Perform detailed code reviews, checking code quality, performance and alignment with agreed designs and engineering standards.

• Ensure integration components meet requirements for latency, throughput, scalability, resilience and fault tolerance.

• Identify and resolve technical blockers, supporting team members with practical guidance and hands-on problem-solving.

• Translate architectural specifications into actionable implementation work and clarify technical questions with the core architecture team.

• Act as the operational link between the architecture team and the remote engineering team.

• Mentor team members and strengthen shared engineering practices across the team.

Location

Applicants must currently reside in Belgium and be legally authorized to work in Belgium. This position is based in Antwerp.

Experience level

You have substantial hands-on experience in C#/.NET backend engineering and a proven track record of leading or coordinating Software Engineers. You are comfortable taking responsibility for daily technical delivery while remaining an active contributor to the codebase.

Core skills

• Strong practical expertise in C# and modern .NET.

• Hands-on experience building serverless backend components using Azure Function Apps.

• Ability to implement maintainable integration logic within an established architecture.

High-volume integration and messaging

• Practical experience engineering systems with demanding message-processing requirements.

• Ability to address latency, throughput, scalability, fault tolerance and reliability in implementation decisions.

• Understanding of robust communication flows between enterprise applications.

Technical leadership and quality

• Proven experience guiding remote engineers and coordinating their technical work.

• Strong code review skills, with attention to correctness, maintainability and performance.

• Ability to unblock colleagues and turn technical challenges into clear next steps.

Nice-to-have skills

• Experience with Apache Kafka or Confluent Kafka.

• Experience integrating with SAP, Microsoft Dataverse or Microsoft Dynamics.

• Relevant Microsoft Azure or .NET certifications, such as AZ-204.
