Brainsquare in Antwerp is seeking a Senior .NET Software Engineer to join a development team working on business-critical applications. You will design and develop backend components and REST APIs using C# and .NET 8, apply SOLID and Clean Architecture, and own delivery from design to implementation in a long-term assignment.

On-site three days a week with two days remote, you will collaborate with a skilled team and contribute to high-quality software delivery.

Your mission

As a Senior .NET Software Engineer, you will join an experienced development team working on business-critical applications in Antwerp.

You will design and develop backend components and REST APIs using C# and .NET 8. Working within the existing architecture, you will translate requirements into reliable, maintainable solutions and take ownership of your work from technical design through implementation.

This long-term assignment combines hands-on development with close collaboration. You will contribute to technical decisions, share your expertise and help the team deliver high-quality software.

Your main tasks

• Take ownership of the technical design and development of backend components.

• Develop and maintain REST APIs using C# and .NET 8.

• Implement data access with Entity Framework and work with SQL databases.

• Apply SOLID principles, Clean Architecture and dependency injection to deliver maintainable code.

• Investigate technical issues and translate findings into practical solutions.

• Collaborate with the technical lead and other team members on implementation choices and integration requirements.

• Contribute to code quality through reviews, unit testing and automated testing practices.

• Communicate progress, technical decisions and delivery risks clearly.

What we are looking for in you

• Strong hands-on experience in .NET development, preferably as a senior developer or technical lead.

• Proven experience building REST APIs with C# and .NET 8.

• Practical experience with Entity Framework.

• A solid understanding of SOLID principles, Clean Architecture and dependency injection.

• Solid SQL knowledge.

• The ability to take responsibility for both technical design and implementation.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Clear communication and a proactive approach to working with colleagues.

• Fluent English; knowledge of Dutch is a plus.

• Availability for a long-term assignment in Antwerp.

• Availability to work on site in Antwerp three days per week, combined with two days of remote work.

Experience with Git, unit testing and automated testing practices, particularly xUnit, is preferred.

Familiarity with microservices architecture and cloud-based solutions, particularly Microsoft Azure, is a plus.
