SOFICO in Ghent is seeking a Software Engineer – Java Backend to design and build scalable backend services within our Miles platform. You will work in an international Scrum team, delivering high-volume calculations and microservices-driven solutions.

The role emphasizes collaboration, early feedback, and continuous improvement, with hybrid work and a structured onboarding program to help you grow and contribute from day one.

Qualifications

• Proven backend development experience in Java (Java 17, Java EE7).
• Experience designing and developing microservices.
• Strong SQL skills with Oracle, SQL Server or PostgreSQL.
• Fluent English and collaboration in an international team.

Responsabilités

• Design and develop backend solutions for the next-generation calculation engine.
• Build scalable system to pre-calculate millions of leasing scenarios.
• Collaborate with engineers and Product Owners to translate business requirements.
• Contribute to the agile Scrum process from refinement to testing and improvement.
• Share expertise within the developer community and promote best practices.
