SOFICO, based in Ghent, is seeking a Software Engineer - Java Backend to contribute to the next-generation calculation engine. You will design backend solutions for high-volume calculations and collaborate across engineering to deliver scalable systems.

The role offers hybrid work and a structured onboarding program designed to accelerate growth. You will work in an international environment with English communication, ownership of technical solutions, and opportunities for knowledge sharing

Qualifications

• Experience as a Software Engineer with backend focus.
• Strong Java backend skills and knowledge of microservices.
• Experience with relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
• Ability to work in an international engineering environment and communicate in English.

Responsabilités

• Design and develop backend solutions for the next-generation calculation engine.
• Help build a scalable system for pre-calculating millions of leasing scenarios.
• Collaborate with engineers and Product Owners to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
• Contribute throughout the agile Scrum lifecycle—from refinement to testing and improvement.
• Share knowledge within SOFICO’s global developer community.
