Job summary

ALTEN International seeks a Bid Officer to lead and coordinate the end-to-end bid process, from qualification to submission, collaborating with sales, technical, legal, financial and operational teams to shape client-focused offers. Clarify value propositions, assess risks, ensure compliance and timely delivery, and translate technical solutions into persuasive content.

Proficiency in English, French or Dutch, and Microsoft Office is required; curiosity to use AI in proposal development is

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a Technical/Engineering or Business field.
• Exposure to engineering services, project work, consulting, bid management, sales support or a client-facing environment is an advantage.
• Demonstrated appetite for business topics, customer needs, commercial reasoning and value propositions.
• French or Dutch and English
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, plus curiosity and eagerness to use AI and digital tools responsibly in proposal development.

Job description

As Bid Officer in ALTEN International, lead and coordinate the end-to-end bid process, from opportunity qualification to submission and handover. Working with sales, technical, legal, financial and operational teams, shape client-focused offers that are technically credible, commercially attractive and aligned with ALTEN’s strategic objectives.

Go beyond compliance by clarifying the value proposition, delivery model, pricing logic, risks, assumptions and differentiators.

Key Responsibilities:

Bid strategy & client understanding

• Analyze requirements, evaluation criteria and client context to identify key success factors.
• Understand customer challenges, business drivers and decision criteria to help define the offer positioning, value proposition and key differentiators.
• Challenge and assess offer attractiveness, delivery feasibility, risks, assumptions and alignment with ALTEN's strategic and financial objectives.

Commercial, risk & quality focus

• Support an economically sound offer by understanding cost drivers, pricing assumptions and expected client value.
• Identify and support mitigation of technical, delivery, commercial and contractual risks.
• Ensure compliance, quality, accuracy, traceability and on-time submission.
• Plan milestones, contributors, deliverables and review cycles; clarify responsibilities.
• Coordinate and constructively challenge multidisciplinary inputs to ensure a coherent offer.
• Translate technical solutions into client benefits and persuasive, sellable content.
• Ensure consistency across need, solution, governance, pricing, commitments and assumptions.

Clients, stakeholders & Bid Office

• Participate in client meetings, clarification sessions and offer presentations when relevant. Communicate progress, decisions, risks and actions clearly.
• Improve templates, reporting and reusable content; proactively explore AI-enabled ways to enhance bid quality, insight and efficiency.

Your profile :

• Master’s degree in a Technical/Engineering or Business field.
• Exposure to engineering services, project work, consulting, bid management, sales support or a client-facing environment is an advantage.
