Optimus Search is seeking a freelance Automation Engineer fluent in Flemish to join a leading Automotive client in Antwerp. The role combines design, optimization and troubleshooting of automation systems using Siemens TIA Portal, PLCs, SCADA, Java, and FMEA, with a hybrid setup requiring 2 days on-site per week.

The 12-month contract may extend, and you will collaborate across engineering and operations to improve reliability and performance while applying robust failure-mode analyses.

Qualifications

Job Title: Automation Engineer (Freelance) - Fluent Flemish Speaking

Location: Antwerp

Hourly Rate: €75 per hour

Contract: 12 months initially (with potential extension)

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced freelance Automation Engineer to join our client, who is a leading company in the Automotive industry. This role will be based in Antwerp, but offers a hybrid working arrangement, requiring just 2 days on-site per week. The contract is initially set for 12 months, with the possibility of extension.

You will be involved in designing, optimizing, and troubleshooting automation systems using Siemens TIA Portal, PLCs, SCADA systems, Java, and FMEA methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and optimize automation systems using Siemens TIA Portal.
• Program and troubleshoot PLCs for industrial automation processes.
• Develop and maintain SCADA systems for real-time monitoring and control.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance system reliability and performance.
• Apply FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis) to identify risks and optimize system designs.

Requirements:
