Optimus Search is seeking a Freelance Automation Engineer in West Flanders, Belgium, to support ongoing automation projects. About the Role

We are supporting a well-established industrial production environment in West Flanders that is looking to strengthen its automation team with an experienced Freelance Automation Engineer.

Due to a strong pipeline of upcoming projects, they are looking for an additional hands-on engineer to support ongoing and future automation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Support automation projects across production and process environments
• Work on Siemens-based systems, including development, optimisation, and troubleshooting
• Collaborate with internal teams and external integrators
• Assist with commissioning, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Provide hands-on support on-site where required

What You Bring

• Strong experience with Siemens automation systems
• Proven experience with:
• PCS7
• WinCC Unified / Unified environments
• Solid project experience across industrial/process environments
• Good understanding of process-driven industries (e.g. food, chemicals, manufacturing)
• Ability to work independently and integrate into existing teams
• Dutch-speaking and based locally in Belgium (West Flanders region preferred)
