Optimus Search partners with a leading, highly automated manufacturing site near Geel, Belgium, to recruit an Automation/PLC Specialist. The contract is 6 months with a strong likelihood of extension and start date within 2 weeks.

You will maintain, troubleshoot, and improve PLC-driven production lines, SCADA systems, and robotics integrations in a fast-paced industrial setting.

Qualifications

• Experience with PLCs (Siemens, Allen-Bradley).
• Proficiency with SCADA systems for production monitoring.
• Industrial automation in fast-paced manufacturing environments.
• Fluent Dutch is essential for daily operations.

Automation / PLC Specialist – Contract Opportunity | Near Geel

We are currently partnering with a leading, highly automated manufacturing site in the Kempen region to recruit an experienced Automation / PLC Specialist.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a cutting-edge production environment with strong investment in automation, robotics, and advanced engineering systems.

Contract: 6 months (with strong likelihood of extension)

Start Date: Within 2 weeks

The Role

You’ll play a key role in maintaining, improving, and troubleshooting highly automated production systems in a fast-paced industrial setting.

Key Responsibilities

• PLC programming, troubleshooting, and optimisation
• Supporting automated production lines and control systems
• Working with SCADA systems to monitor and improve performance
• Diagnosing faults across electrical, control, and network systems
• Contributing to continuous improvement and automation projects

Key Skills & Experience

• Strong PLC experience (e.g. Siemens, Allen-Bradley)
• Industrial networking & protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, ProfiNet, CANbus)
• Experience with SCADA systems for production monitoring
• Robotics integration (pick-and-place, packaging, palletising, EOAT)
• Knowledge of sensors & instrumentation (pressure, temperature, flow, feedback loops)
• Background in manufacturing or process environments
• Fluent Dutch (essential)
