IBA Worldwide in Louvain-la-Neuve is seeking an Automation Safety Engineer to join the Engineering & Supply Chain team. You will work across business units to support safety-related activities and upgrade management for installed bases and new deployments.

You will contribute to risk assessments, document control system implementations, testing, and on-site deployments while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to meet project schedules.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Engineering or automation (or equivalent).
• 2–3 years of Automation Engineer experience in projects.
• Experience in automation safety is preferred but not required.
• Analytical and critical mind with respect for schedule and business strategy.
• Team player with a creative mindset.
• Experience with SCADA (Archestra, PCVue).
• Willing to travel ~10% internationally.

Responsabilités

Mission

As a member of the Engineering & Supply Chain team, you'll be working acroos different business units (Industrial solutions, Proton-therapy and RadioPharma Solutions). You will be involved in various lifecycle phases of product development (in particular upgrade management on installed base, from scratch development for new product, new site deployement,…).

Challenges we trust you with

• Support automation-related safety activities, including participation in risk assessments, implementation of safety requirements, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure equipment and process safety compliance.
• Document the control system implementation
• Write, execute and maintain unit test cases, define and execute integration tests
• Develop software solutions by understanding and challenging business needs
• Support internal and external customers
• Deploy and upgrade control systems on site and in factory
• Provide and respect estimations for workload and deadlines.
• Review outcomes produced by other team members and propose improvements. Support team and feature, by providing one’s own expertise according to one’s domain
• Follow best practices and rules defined at IBA. Challenge them and propose improvements

What we value

• Master's degree in Engineering, automation bachelor or equivalent
• At least 2 or 3 years of experience as Automation Engineer in Projects
• Experience in automation safety is preferred but not required
• Analytical and critical mind, expertise in providing efficient solutions while respecting the project schedule and product/Business Line strategy
• Team player and creative mindset
• Experience with SCADA (Archestra, PCVue)
• Willing to learn new technologies and new software methodology
• PLC & Safety PLC programming (Siemens STEP7 and TIA Portal, B&R)
• Industrial communications based on Profibus-DP, PROFINET, S7, and other industrial protocols
• Willing to travel 10% (international)

Compensation package

The total guaranteed annual compensation range (which includes annual base salary, as well as flexible budget if applicable, and car budget in specific locations) for this position is provided below:

Total gross guaranteed annual compensation range: [53600 – 83200]

The salary range indicated above is provided in compliance with applicable pay transparency requirements and reflects the typical compensation scope for this position based on the role's level of responsibility, required expertise, and location. The actual offer will be determined on an individual basis, taking into account objective and gender-neutral factors including relevant professional experience, qualifications, specific competencies, and internal equity. The range does not constitute a guaranteed salary and is subject to adjustment based on the final assessment of the selected candidate's profile. The role might also qualify for additional compensation elements such as variable pay, profit sharing, and benefits which are not reflected in this range.
