Are you an experienced Electrical Building Designer eager to take the next step in your career with a leading company in the electrical manufacturing industry? Based in our Edinburgh modern manufacturing facility, Mayfield is seeking a full-time Electrical Building Designer to join our team.

As an Electrical Building Designer, you will report to the Electrical Building Design Lead and work on projects for clients across a variety of industries, including:

• Mining
• Renewable Energy
• Infrastructure
• Power Generation & Transmission
• Water & Wastewater
• Heavy Industry
• Oil & Gas

• Generate designs and detailed engineering deliverables, working under the supervision of the lead designer.
• Able to develop and review a complete set of transportable electrical switchroom construction documents (layouts, elevations, details, cable ladders, penetrations, platforms, stairs, etc.) based upon project/client specification with little or no supervision.
• Liaise proactively with clients to understand their requirements/standards. Interpret and apply client standards to design and drafting activities.
• Expertise in SolidWorks and Revit BIM.
• Able to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Identify and resolve design errors promptly, maintaining high standards of accuracy and quality.
• Good knowledge of AS3000, AS2067, AS3008, AS1657, AS1670 and Australian National Construction Code.
• Continuously review and improve design practices to enhance efficiency, construction methods, and material usage.

• Qualifications in Electrical Engineering.
• Ideally a background of several years as a Building Designer or similar activity.
• Strong 3D CAD knowledge (REVIT and SolidWorks are preferred).
• Minimum two years post-graduate experience in relevant industry sectors is desirable.
