Job summary

Thomastown Secondary College in Melbourne's north is seeking a committed classroom teacher for Years 7–12. The role focuses on planning, preparing and delivering engaging programs to diverse learners, with opportunities to contribute to school policy and student outcomes.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the relevant curriculum with ability to teach literacy and numeracy skills.
• Experience planning high-impact teaching strategies guided by how students learn.
• Experience monitoring and assessing student learning using data to inform teaching.
• Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills with students, parents and colleagues.
• Commitment to reflecting on practice and engaging in professional learning.

Responsibilities

• Direct teaching of groups of students and individual students.
• Contributing to curriculum development, implementation and evaluation.
• Undertaking non-teaching duties as required by school needs.
• Participating in parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps and excursions.
• Supporting school policies and priorities in line with role responsibilities.
