Job summary

Thomastown Secondary College seeks a committed classroom teacher to plan, prepare and deliver programs that achieve specific student outcomes. The role involves teaching diverse groups, mentoring peers, and using student data to inform teaching approaches that drive improvement in learning outcomes across the school.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the relevant curriculum and ability to teach literacy and numeracy alongside student needs.
• Experience planning and implementing high-impact teaching strategies and evaluating learning growth.
• Experience monitoring and assessing student learning and providing feedback to students and parents.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with students, parents and colleagues.
• Demonstrated behaviours aligned with Department values and commitment to professional growth.

Responsibilities

• Direct teaching of groups and individuals to achieve student outcomes.
• Develop, implement and evaluate curriculum programs within the school.
• Undertake other classroom teaching and organisational duties as needed.
• Participate in parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps and excursions.
• Engage in professional learning to continually improve teaching quality.
