Dahlsens Building Centres Pty in Queensland seeks multiple yard persons to join our team. You will handle stock, keep the yard clean and safe, assist with loading orders and support retail counter sales. Weekend roster may apply as we trade Saturday mornings.

We offer both full-time and casual positions with training and a friendly, supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Physically fit with ability to lift loads safely.
• Experience loading/unloading heavy building materials.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Computer literacy and quick system learning.
• Forklift Licence (LF) required.

Responsibilities

• Receive, unload, store and replenish stock safely.
• Maintain a clean, safe yard in line with WHS.
• Pick, pack and prepare customer orders.
• Assist with loading/unloading vehicles and deliveries.
• Support retail counter sales and customer enquiries.
• Conduct stock movements and inventory checks.
• Ensure products are prepared for transport.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking multiple positive and energetic team members with experience in general hardware and yard keeping to join our team. We require someone with a welcoming approach who can be a team player providing excellent service to our customers. This role will see a number of different tasks to undertake, including stock handling and storage, keeping yard area maintained in a clean and safe manner, collating and loading customer orders and the ability to assist with retail counter sales. We have full time and casual positions available.

As we trade on a Saturday morning this role may also require weekend work on a rostered basis.

RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE

• Receiving, unloading, storing and replenishing stock in a safe and efficient manner.
• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe yard environment in line with workplace health and safety requirements.
• Picking, packing and preparing customer orders accurately and on time.
• Loading and unloading customer, supplier and delivery vehicles using appropriate equipment and safe work practices.
• Assisting customers with product collection and providing friendly, professional service.
• Supporting retail counter sales and general customer enquiries as required.
• Conducting stock movements, stock checks and inventory organisation to ensure product availability and accuracy.
• Ensuring products are packaged, secured and prepared appropriately for transport and delivery.
• Collaborating with the wider team to achieve daily operational and customer service objectives.
• Participating in ongoing product knowledge and safety training with leading industry suppliers and brands.
• Contributing to a positive team culture by demonstrating reliability, initiative and a strong commitment to customer service

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

• Physically fit with the ability to safely lift loads and manually handle goods
• Experience in loading and unloading heavy building materials
• Exceptional attention to detail coupled with high level of accuracy
• Computer literate and ability to learn new systems quickly
• Forklift Licence (LF)
