Job summary

Dahlsens Building Centres Pty in Cooktown is seeking a Weekend Supervisor to help run the hardware store on Saturdays and Sundays. You will support the Branch Manager, assist customers, and help keep the store busy and organized.

The role requires a friendly, confident demeanor, strong communication and the ability to work with the team to deliver great service. Weekend availability is essential for this casual position.

Qualifications

ABOUT THE ROLE

We're looking for a friendly and motivated Weekend Supervisor to join our Cooktown Hardware team. This casual role is a great fit for someone who enjoys helping customers, supporting a team, and keeping a busy store running smoothly.

You'll work closely with the Branch Manager and team to deliver great customer service, support sales, and help create a positive and safe workplace.

Our store is open seven days a week, so weekend availability is required.

RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE

In this role, you'll help with day-to-day store operations, customer service, team support and stock coordination. Hardware or building industry experience would be helpful, but what matters most is a positive attitude, confidence with people and a willingness to learn.

• Support customers with orders, quotes and product enquiries
• Follow up quotes, orders and any delays with customers and builders
• Help monitor stock levels and keep the store running smoothly
• Lead by example and promote a safe, positive team culture
• Coach and support team members with product knowledge and customer service
• Work with the Branch Manager and team to achieve strong sales and service outcomes

ABOUT YOU

• Previous supervisory experience
• Friendly, approachable and confident working with customers and team members
• Strong communication and organisation skills
• Able to work independently and prioritise tasks
• Customer focused with good attention to detail
• Physically able to safely lift and handle goods
