Job summary

Dahlsens Family Group of Companies is seeking a friendly, energetic all-rounder to join our Smithfield team. You’ll assist customers at the counter, pick and pack orders, load goods and help wherever needed in a busy hardware environment.

The role involves assisting trade and retail customers, loading stock, operating a forklift, and keeping the yard safe and tidy. Five days a week, 6:00 am to 4:30 pm. A current LF forklift licence is essential.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re looking for a friendly, energetic all-rounder to join our Smithfield team. You’ll help customers at the counter, pick and pack orders, load goods and lend a hand wherever it’s needed. It’s a busy, hands-on role, so you’ll enjoy being on the go and working as part of a close-knit team.

Our store is open from 6.00 am to 4.30 pm, five days a week.

RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE

• Lending a hand across the store and counter sales when needed
• Provide efficient and friendly service to trade and retail customers in the yard
• Safely load and unload building materials and stock
• Operate a forklift and other equipment in a safe and responsible manner
• Pick, prepare, and stage customer orders accurately
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe yard environment
• Support stock movements, replenishment, and general housekeeping
• Follow all workplace health and safety procedures at all times
• Work collaboratively with team members to meet customer and delivery timeframes

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

• A friendly, helpful approach and a genuine focus on customers
• Experience safely loading, unloading and looking after stock
• The fitness to safely lift and manually handle goods
• Good attention to detail and pride in getting things right
• A strong commitment to keeping yourself, your team and visitors safe
• A current LF forklift licence — this is essential
• A hands-on, can-do attitude and a willingness to pitch in
