Job summary

Australian Marine Centre in Slacks Creek, between Brisbane and the Gold Coast, is seeking an experienced Workshop Manager to lead a busy marine workshop. You will oversee day-to-day operations, schedule jobs, manage a skilled team and ensure safety, quality and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Monitor workflow, identify bottlenecks and implement improvements.

Workshop Manager

Australian Marine Centre is a leading marine dealership and Mercury & Suzuki Service Centre, conveniently located between Brisbane and the Gold Coast. We proudly represent arguably the best marine brands including Quintrex, Bar Crusher, Aquamaster and Northbank Boats.

We are now seeking an experienced Workshop Manager to lead our busy workshop team and help maintain the high standards our customers and brands expect.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the workshop, ensuring jobs are scheduled efficiently, resources are allocated effectively and the team consistently delivers quality workmanship.
• Lead and support the workshop team, providing direction, maintaining productivity and ensuring all servicing, maintenance and repair work is completed safely, efficiently, on time and in accordance with company and manufacturer requirements.
• Oversee customer service and communication, liaising with customers to understand their requirements, provide accurate updates and ensure a positive experience throughout the servicing and repair process.
• Manage workshop parts, equipment and inventory, monitoring stock levels and working closely with the parts interpreter to ensure required parts and equipment are available when needed.
• Monitor workshop performance and workflow, identifying bottlenecks, addressing issues and implementing process improvements to increase efficiency, productivity and customer satisfaction.
• Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements, workshop procedures and manufacturer guidelines.
• Work closely with the Management, Sales and Administration teams to ensure a smooth handover and coordination of boats, motors and trailers moving through the business.

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience in a marine workshop or similar leadership role, with a strong understanding of workshop operations and workflow.
• Solid technical knowledge of marine engines, systems and components, with the ability to understand and troubleshoot servicing and repair requirements.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and confidently discuss servicing, repairs and job requirements.
• Proven leadership and people-management skills, with the ability to lead, motivate and develop a team while maintaining a positive and productive workshop environment.
• Strong problem-solving and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads, resolve issues and keep jobs moving efficiently.
• Good computer skills and experience with workshop management, job scheduling and inventory systems, with the ability to quickly learn new software and processes.
• A strong commitment to workplace safety, quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.
