Job summary

Minter Marine, a Sydney-based Yamaha dealership expanding into Pittwater, seeks a Marine Service Manager to lead our mechanical service operations, manage the workshop team and deliver exceptional customer service.

Reporting to the owner, you will coordinate daily workshop and field service, schedule bookings, prepare quotations, supervise technicians and drive profitability while maintaining safety and quality.

Minter Marine is seeking an experienced and motivated Marine Service Manager to lead our mechanical service operations, manage our workshop team and deliver exceptional customer service across our expanding business.

With an established Yamaha dealership in Rozelle and our upcoming expansion into Church Point Marina in Pittwater, this is an exciting opportunity to join a growing marine business with a strong reputation for quality workmanship, technical expertise and customer service.

About the role

Reporting to the business owner, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of our marine service operations, ensuring jobs are completed efficiently, customers are kept informed and our technicians have the support and resources they need to succeed.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing and coordinating daily workshop and field service operations.
• Scheduling service bookings, allocating jobs and managing technician workloads.
• Preparing and overseeing service quotations, work orders and customer invoices.
• Liaising with customers regarding repairs, servicing, diagnostics and maintenance.
• Managing parts requirements and coordinating with suppliers.
• Supporting and supervising marine mechanics and service technicians.
• Monitoring job progress, labour efficiency, workshop productivity and profitability.
• Maintaining high standards of workmanship, workplace safety and customer satisfaction.
• Developing strong relationships with customers, suppliers and industry partners.
• Identifying opportunities to improve service processes and grow the business.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

• Experience in marine servicing, workshop management or a similar technical service environment.
• Strong knowledge of marine engines, outboards, inboard engines and associated systems.
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple jobs simultaneously.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• The ability to lead, motivate and support a team of technicians.
• Commercial awareness, including an understanding of labour recovery, job costing and workshop profitability.
• A proactive, practical approach to problem-solving.
• A current driver's licence.

A marine mechanical qualification or previous experience as a senior marine technician would be highly regarded. Experience with service management software, workshop scheduling and parts management will also be advantageous.
