Port O Call Boating is seeking an experienced Marine Mechanic to join our team in Warana, QLD. This full-time, hands-on role involves servicing, repairing and maintaining a range of marine vessels and engines to ensure safe, reliable operation for clients.

Port O Call Boating is seeking an experienced Marine Mechanic to join our dynamic team on a full-time basis. This is a hands-on technical role based in Warana, QLD 4575, where you will be responsible for servicing, repairing and maintaining a variety of marine vessels and engines. As a Marine Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our clients' boats operate safely and efficiently, directly contributing to customer satisfaction and the reputation of Port O Call Boating.

What you'll be doing

• Diagnosing and troubleshooting marine engine and mechanical problems using specialised tools and equipment
• Performing routine maintenance services including oil changes, filter replacements, spark plug changes and fluid top-ups
• Servicing and repairing marine engines, including inboard, outboard and sterndrive motors
• Conducting comprehensive inspections of marine vessels to identify mechanical issues and safety concerns
• Replacing and repairing marine components including propellers, impellers, water pumps and fuel systems
• Performing engine tuning and optimisation to ensure peak performance and fuel efficiency
• Maintaining accurate service records and documentation for all work completed
• Liaising with customers to explain repairs, provide updates and discuss maintenance recommendations
• Adhering to all health and safety regulations and best practices in a marine workshop environment

What we're looking for

• Recognised qualification in marine mechanics or a related automotive trade (e.g. apprenticeship or formal certification)
• Proven experience as a Marine Mechanic or similar role in the marine or automotive industry
• Competent knowledge of marine engine types, including two-stroke, four-stroke, petrol engines
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools, testing equipment and standard mechanical tools
• Strong understanding of marine systems including electrical, fuel, cooling and hydraulic systems
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work methodically through complex mechanical issues
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical matters clearly to customers
• A commitment to maintaining high standards of workmanship and attention to detail
• Current driver's licence and ability to work flexibly to meet business demands
• Experience with warranty work and customer service excellence is advantageous
